This is Corregidor Island from outside our boat. It is a tadpole-like shaped Island between Bataan and Cavite. I took a shot using my phone from the inside that's why it is a bit blurry.
It was a one hour trip from Manila Bay and we spent that one hour getting crazy about taking pictures of ourselves not knowing that we would be out of memory for the whole trip ahead. When we docked, we were welcomed by tourist guides and Ferry Buses just like the ones in San Francisco, California. I'd say that the 1,300 pesos that we paid was well worth it!
So we started touring the island starting from what was left from the World War 2. Buildings from that time are now considered as ruins since most of them were bombed leaving nothing but concrete and some roots from giant trees cuddling of what was left of that time. The whole island merely depicts the image of the freedom that we Filipinos worked so hard for...but of course with the help of the Americans... the Japanese were evil at that time. Various memorials were built to comemorate on what is now history. Like the Pacific War Memorial, Filipino Heroes Memorial, the Japanese Garden Memorial and the Malinta Tunnel.
The trip was meant for us because the weather has been very good. No traces of cloud formation and no signs of rain. It only started to rain when we reached Manila Bay and started docking. It was awesome!
Good thing that i had a camera phone because my digicam, like i said, quickly ran out of memory. Lol. XD I want to go back to Corregidor some day and i have pictures proving to show that i really enjoyed.
