Tropic Thunder
I give this fucking movie a 10/10! XD
My cousin gave us FREE advance screening movie tickets for Tropic Thunder last Saturday (they were Php350 each mwahhahaha) at SM Mega Mall.
So being a frustrated movie critic, this movie is perfect to watch for people who love Psychiatry such as myself. I really love analyzing this movie for the mere fact that every character portrayed have their own stories to tell...and they play as actors in the movie.
The movie starts off with three trailers of different "movies" with the characters above each with a trailer of their own. Then some war scene comes into play with guts flying all over the place until the director says "cut" because he was dissapointed by how the actors acted emotionless. Then some scenes pass until you wonder who the heck is Tom Cruise playing?! I only figured out who Tom Cruise was until the latter part of the movie..ugh I suck. XD
Anyhow, the directer of the movie in the movie wanted to make "Tropic Thunder" the best movie of all time. So in order to make his actors get out of their rich skin, the director made his actors wander off into the jungle alone to finish the war movie. According to him "it has to be real in order for the movie to feel real".
Jack Black - played a comedian actor who gets discovered using illegal drugs and then later fights off the addiction on the latter part of the movie.
Ben Stiller - played an actor who is kind of a schizophrenic who gets admired by the terrorists who captured him and is having a hard time focusing on the real world and dreams a lot. He won a grammy on the latter part of the movie.
Robert Downey Jr. - played a vain actor who had dual personality. Also confused on who he really is. Accepted his being "Australian" and not some other race.
There are also a lot of gayness in the movie which is really funny and a lot of procrastination. But of course, I am not going to spoil the whole movie for those who are anticipated to watch it. A perfect date movie for those who want to have a fucking good laugh. XD
